HINS conducted a feasibility study to assess the potential for biogas generation at the Piedras Blancas landfill, which included field measurements, analysis of historical data, and future projections of waste disposal, as well as the development of theoretical biogas production curves in different scenarios. Based on these results, two preliminary projects were developed: one for a biogas extraction and treatment plant, and another for an electricity generation plant, with the goal of achieving a continuous generation capacity of 3.2 MW.
